ELECTRONICS REUSE

Technology changes quickly, but that doesn't mean your older gadgets are useless. Since 2008, certain electronic products in Nova Scotia have been regulated and banned from landfills and therefore must be recycled. BUT, before you recycle those unwanted electronics, please consider how you could REUSE them and extend their life-span.

What are your options?

Reuse it

Even slightly outdated gadgets make great gifts. Maybe someone in your extended family can use the electronic product for themselves or for their children? It's a great way to prolong its use, help out others, and save money.

Sell it for Reuse

Even if you don't want or need an electronic product anymore, it probably still has value to someone else. Try selling the product through the classifieds, a garage sale or via one of the free online buy and sell sites. This can help you recoup some of the value that remains.**

Some options include:
Donate for Reuse

In Nova Scotia, the Computers for Schools Program is a great way to ensure that your unwanted computer benefits Nova Scotia School Boards and related institutions. If you no longer have any use for that desktop or laptop computer, this program gladly accepts donations.
